Set of 4 Antique Limoges Cocktail Plates for Ovington Bros.

A spectacular set of four antique French Limoges porcelain plates, made for the celebrated New York retailer Ovington Bros. around the turn of the 20th century.

Each plate features an elaborate gilt border surrounding delicate florals in soft pink, yellow and green, finished with a striking ornamental gold medallion at the center. Originally made as luncheon plates, their 8.5-inch size makes them wonderfully versatile today. Use for cocktail or dessert plates, layer them into a collected table setting, or display them simply for their decorative beauty.

The porcelain is in excellent antique condition, with no chips or cracks. There is visible wear and loss to the gilding consistent with more than a century of age and use; please see photographs for detail. We love the character it gives this beautiful old set.
