Antique National China “Rose Marie” 13.5" Oval Serving Platter, c. 1910s–1920s
A grand-scale serving platter from National China, one of the American potteries that helped make eastern Ohio a center of domestic china production in the early 20th century. Measuring approximately 13.5 inches long, the platter features the company's Rose Marie pattern: delicate pink rose garlands framed by a striking cobalt-blue border and finished with a fine gold rim. The combination feels wonderfully of its era while still being surprisingly easy to mix into a modern table.
Its generous proportions make it a true entertaining piece, perfect for presenting a small roast or whole chicken, but equally useful piled with bread, fruit, desserts or a spread of appetizers. The platter shows the fine overall crazing expected of china approximately a century old, along with gentle age-related discoloration and wear. No chips or cracks. Backstamped National Dinner Ware, Rose Marie, 246. 13.5 inches long. Circa 1910s–1920s. Made in Ohio.
