A striking pair of vintage silverplate shell catchalls by the Leonard Silver Manufacturing Company, crafted during the height of the mid-century Hollywood Regency era. Featuring a classic, deeply sculpted clam-shell motif with elegant scalloped ribbing, these individual-sized dishes are designed entirely flat on the bottom for a sleek, low-profile silhouette and exceptional stability.

Originally intended as individual seafood, butter, or condiment servers for mid-century dinner parties, this matching set is especially appealing because it remains in literally perfect, deadstock condition. They appear to have never been used, completely bypassing the heavy wear and plate loss typically found on vintage tableware.

Their petite scale and flawless, mirror-like finish make them wonderfully versatile around the modern home: use them symmetrically to flank a pair of bedroom nightstands, as luxury dresser trinket trays for fine jewelry, as elegant vanity soap dishes, or for serving individual portions of coarse sea salt or lemon wedges at your next gathering.

The pair presents beautifully in its untouched state, retaining its original high-lustre silver brilliance.

Marked "Leonard / Silverplated / Hong Kong" on the underside.
