Vintage Heavy-Bottom Stemless Martini & Cocktail Glasses, Set of 4

A striking set of four vintage cocktail glasses with an unusual flared silhouette and exceptionally substantial clear glass bases. Beautifully weighted in the hand, each glass has subtle variations in its shape and construction that give the set the character and quality of well-made vintage glassware.

While their original intended use is unknown, we think they're particularly fabulous as stemless martini glasses or for any cocktail served 'up'. The open 3-inch rim is ideal for cocktails served up, while the thick, narrow base gives them considerably more stability than a traditional martini stem while keeping the heat from the hands away from the cocktail bowl. Just as good for a Manhattan, Negroni, gimlet or whatever you're pouring. Each glass bears a small hand-etched "U" followed by an individual production number near the base. Maker and origin remain unidentified. Excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. Set of 4 , they stand 5 inches tall with a 3 inch rim and approx. 2 inch base.
