Vintage Chinese Blue & White Porcelain Covered Jar, Late 20th Century
Charming vintage Chinese blue and white porcelain covered jar with a wonderfully sculptural silhouette. The rounded body is decorated with cobalt blue floral and foliate motifs and accented by substantial applied side handles, a raised pedestal foot and a domed lid finished with an arched handle.
Dating to the late 20th century, the jar has the subtle character and variation that make vintage blue and white porcelain so appealing. At approximately eight inches high and wide, it has enough presence to stand beautifully on its own while remaining an easy scale for a mantel, bookshelf, console or tabletop vignette.
A lovely decorative piece to mix among books, silver, brass and other collected objects, and could be perfectly incorporated into a larger grouping of blue and white porcelain.
Marked "Made in China" on the underside. The mark bears a manufacturer's food warning; we recommend this piece for decorative use only.
