A substantial vintage Stiffel solid brass table lamp, paired with a high-quality vintage natural cloth shade.

Founded in Chicago in 1932, Stiffel became known for exceptionally well-made American lighting, particularly its weighty metal lamps and classically inspired forms. This large-scale example has the substantial construction associated with the maker, with a sculptural stacked-baluster silhouette formed from rounded brass elements, stepped detailing and a broad base.

The warm brass finish has wonderful depth and character. The lamp was sourced without a shade and has been paired with a vintage natural cloth shade, selected for its quality, scale, texture and traditional proportions. Its warm neutral tone and subtle woven texture complement the aged brass beautifully and give the lamp a relaxed, collected quality.

Generously scaled at approximately 34 inches tall overall, this is a true full-scale table lamp with enough presence for a console, large side table, library or bedside table where a smaller lamp could easily feel lost.

The lamp is in good vintage condition and works properly. The vintage shade shows a few light marks and subtle variations in tone consistent with age and previous use, all cosmetic and entirely usable as-is. The harp sits slightly out of true.
