A particularly beautiful antique English serving platter in Crown Ducal's uncommon Rex pattern, produced by A.G. Richardson & Co. in Staffordshire during the early 20th century. The elaborate border is what makes this piece: graceful blue and ochre scrollwork winds around the platter with stylized leaves, fruit and tiny touches of coral, creating an almost Renaissance-inspired frame around the warm ivory center.

At approximately 12 × 10 inches, it's substantial enough for serving while remaining an easy size to mix into a modern table. Use it for a roast or vegetables at dinner, cheeses or small bites for cocktails, or as a beautiful dessert platter. Or simply display as decor.

The platter shows overall glaze crazing consistent with its age, adding to the character of this century-old piece, with no need to disguise its history. Marked Crown Ducal Ware, A.G.R. & Co. Ltd., England, with the Rex pattern name.
