A beautifully crafted vintage two-tier serving stand made from richly grained Oregon myrtlewood, with polished metal fittings and an elegant shield-shaped handle. Made by The House of Myrtlewood in Coos Bay, Oregon, circa 1950's-1960's.

Myrtlewood, native to a small stretch of the Pacific Coast, is prized for the extraordinary variation in its grain, color and figuring. This piece showcases it beautifully, with warm honeyed tones and especially lovely figuring across the upper tier.

The simple two-tier form makes this an exceptionally useful entertaining piece, perfect for pastries or tea sandwiches, fruit, cheeses, sweets or cocktail-hour bites. Its combination of natural wood and polished metal feels remarkably versatile, equally at home in a traditional, contemporary or more eclectic setting.

The original House of Myrtlewood label remains intact on the underside and charmingly describes myrtle as 'the most beautiful wood that grows.' In very good vintage condition with light wear consistent with age and use.
