Antique Rogers & Bro. A1 Art Nouveau Floral Silverplate Serving Ladle, c. 1900, 13"
A striking antique silverplate serving ladle by Rogers & Bro., featuring an elaborate botanical design characteristic of the Art Nouveau period around the turn of the 20th century. Measuring an impressive 13 inches long, the ladle is beautifully sculptural, with a dimensional flower framed by sweeping foliage inside the bowl and flowing botanical details continuing along the handle to a raised blossom at the terminal. The reverse is stamped with the star Rogers & Bro. A1 mark, identifying it as American silverplate by the historic maker.
The ladle's size and scale makes it ideal for soups, stews, punch or large-format serving, while the ornate floral design gives it enough presence to become a statement piece for a festive meal or holiday table. Beautifully polished and in very good antique condition, with surface wear consistent with age and use. A wonderfully decorative piece of antique American silverplate that remains ready for service. Rogers & Bro., A1 silverplate, American, c. 1900, pprox. 13" long.
