An unusually shaped mid-century silverplate serving tray by Sheffield Silver Co., with clipped geometric ends, a wide polished rim and a finely chased foliate border. A beautifully engraved script "H" at the center gives the piece the collected character we love in vintage silver.

At 12.5 inches long, it's a wonderfully versatile size for entertaining, use it for cocktails, glassware, hors d'oeuvres or a small coffee service, or leave it out on a bar or console with bottles, candles or other favorite objects. The architectural shape gives this one considerably more presence than the traditional oval silver tray.

Marked SHEFFIELD S.CO. with the company's trademark and NICKEL SILVER / 3013 to the underside.

Dimensions: 12.5" L × 8.25" W
Material: Silverplate over nickel silver
Maker: Sheffield Silver Co.
Origin: United States
Date: Mid-20th century
Condition: Good vintage condition with surface scratches, areas of plating wear and minor marks consistent with age and use. The wear reads as an attractive, naturally developed patina; the chased border and engraved monogram remain crisp.
