Vintage Coalport Countryware Artichoke Serving Plate, English Bone China

A fabulous and unusual serving piece from Coalport's iconic Countryware collection, crafted in England from luminous white bone china. Measuring approximately 10 inches across, the plate features individual leaf-shaped sections surrounding a raised center well, originally designed for placing the whole artichoke in the middle of the plate, with a side well for sauce and the leafy section to place discarded leaves.

Its wonderfully sculptural form also makes it perfect for modern entertaining: arrange cocktail bites around the leaves with a dip or condiment at the center, use it for crudités, or fill the sections with small sweets and snacks. Coalport's discontinued Countryware collection is beloved for its all-white, nature-inspired forms, and this specialized artichoke plate is one of its more distinctive serving pieces.
