Wonderfully ornate antique American silverplate sugar tongs by Wm. A. Rogers, richly decorated with scrolling floral ornament and sculptural shell-form gripping ends. A period script monogram adds another layer of character and history.
Petite at approximately 5.5 inches long, they're perfectly sized for sugar cubes at coffee or tea, but far too charming to reserve for the sugar bowl. Use them for lemon wedges, cocktail garnishes, olives, chocolates, or other small bites when entertaining.
Marked Wm. A. Rogers A1. Very good antique condition with no scratches or loss of silver. Early 20th century, United States.
